Re: Can I abdicate from the USA?

You and me both JR, I am not qualified to give technical advice but do say how an image appears to me.

I find it helpful for people to tell me how one of my shots seems to them and thought they would too, perhaps not, will try to keep my impressions a bit more under control.

Last thing I would wish to do is offend as I am in awe of most the work published here.

Re: Can I abdicate from the USA?

One of the reasons I continue to enjoy this forum is the lack of "snobs". Jols straightened me out on etiquette when I was brand new & I thank her for that.

I love photography. If it were up to me everyone would own the digital or film camera of their choice. There is so much beauty that surrounds each of us if we would only take the time to look. Sharing that beauty we capture through photography enriches the lives of others & contributes to preserving that treasure.

You are not a photograhic snob Jack & I covet your opinion and admire your talents. Keep up the good work.

Re: Can I abdicate from the USA?

I posted a photo of my own in one of Suzi's threads. You reminded me that I needed to start a separate post if I wanted to post my own work & not hijack Moonstone's. I took your advice. You were right.

Re: Can I abdicate from the USA?

Bob

Of course you can abdicate from the USA but I have to warn you we are sinking under immigrants in this country. Joking apart, whatever hobby/interest you will always find those that know it all who are snobs ( apart from me of course).
For me if I am happy with a photo thats really all that counts, but if someone can point out some improvement which I have overlooked then I welcome the comments /criticism.

Re: Can I abdicate from the USA?

I have to say that *I* commented on someones picture on here to say that the water/horizon was not level as well. I am not a picky person but to be honest, it is a constructive criticism ...if you don't want anyone to critique a shot then you need to either say so at the top of the post or ....

I am glad to receive any critiques ..for a start it means someone has taken the trouble to *look* at my shot and for another thing, they can see how to improve it

So chin up, take it for how it was probably meant
