Upgraded to Canon 600D

Upgraded to the 600D from the 450D. Local camera shop did me a good deal on the price and part exchange so couldn't refuse. Loving the 18mp images and all the new features and functions. I know this is unusual for a guy but I have read the manual......twice. I run PSE8 and currently Adobe hasn't released Camera RAW 6.4 which is supposed to support the 600D. So in the mean time I have to use the DNG converter to open the shots in the PSE8 Raw converter. A bit of a pain but I'll persevere. Hopefully the release will come soon.

Re: Upgraded to Canon 600D

Congrats on your new camera Paul, from what I've seen on the internet the 600D is not to different from the 7D in a lot of areas.

Look forward to seeing some shots taken with it.

Re: Upgraded to Canon 600D

Am interested to hear more as I am thinking of upgrading from my 450D and also have PSE8 ( which I hate and will use anything else first)

Am excited to see your pics.

Re: Upgraded to Canon 600D

I've already received the upgrade to Raw Converter 6.4. I suspect you too will get your upgrade very soon. I have Elements 8.0. It came with my Leica V-LUX 20, but I use Photoshop CS5 and OnOne Picture Perfect Suite. I got the full version through a series of upgrades, starting with Elements 7.0. I'm certainly grateful for the opportunity to obtain the full version of CS5 directly from Adobe. They were very kind to grant me the full Mac cross-platform swap when I recently bought my new iMac.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new camera. As others have mentioned, getting new gear is always exciting. When I bought my Nikon D7000 I read the manual, in PDF format, thoroughly. Having upgraded from the D90 there were a lot of similar menus items that I quickly customized. I love my new camera body, with it's extended features and sensitivity to low light use. Good luck with the new camera and post some photos taken with it as soon as you can.

Re: Upgraded to Canon 600D

After a lot of faffing about with Camera RAW 6.4 and PSE8 I decided to go for PSE9. Not a lot of difference between that and 8 but my camera is now supported re RAW converter. Need to get out and about now to grab some images to process.

I'm sort of a software junkie. I have Photoshop Elements 6,7 & 8. I also have Photoshop CS4 & CS5 for both Windows and Mac. Add to that OnOne's Photo Perfect Suite Professional & Topaz DeNoise Plugins. I have Adobe Lightroom 3 for Mac on the way. I think I've got it covered.
