Re: Can anyone help?

To eliminate that orange glow its best to use flash with a filter. One problem is at dog shows, one is not supposed to use flash while the animals are being exhibited, and I suspect its the same with horse shows. Having just purchased an SB900 speedlight it comes with the appropriate filters but your looking at just over a £300 purchase. If at anytime your considering making such a purchase this SB900 speedlight is the one to get.

Have a look at the link I posted as well in your previous postings

Oh don't dump the photo, its the best way to demonstrate the problem, so much better than words trying to describe something. It allows members to offer better help.

Editing can help

But not being there I can only guess at the correct colour tone

Re: Can anyone help?

Sorry Baz but why would you need to use flash with a filter on it to eliminate the colour cast. That would introduce a colour cast.

Flash units are daylight balanced and as such try to mimic the light you get in daylight.

Suze, I presume this shot was taken indoors under artificial lighting and if that is the case then the colour cast is a reslt of your camera's auto light balance not getting it right.

The blurriness is a result of a slow shutter speed and is called camera shake. Using a monopod could help as a tripod would not be mobile enough to use sensibly in these circumstances.

Re: Can anyone help?

thanks both

i am having serious problems with uploading softwarre....

i have a few photos which dont look half as orange..... but have peoples faces on them - will happily pm them to you (the ones wich i think look ok)

i dont have a spare £300 currently lol

problem also being i cannot use a flash around horses... in an indoor. its too dangerous. hence why that may have bee trouble too.

any other photo editing stuff i can down load and have a go with???
thanks

Re: Can anyone help?

Steve
I have found under certain lighting conditions a flash with a filter can produce a better daylight type photo than a camera can on its own. Steve may well be correct we all have our own theories and methods.

What I would say is there are 2 ways of taking a moving subject, A = tracking, where you pan the camera to stay with the subject keeping it in focus whilst the background blurs. B= fixed position which creates the background to be sharp and the subject blurred.

Like everything with photography its up to the photographer to decide in what they want to achieve.
Basically I would say there are 3 standards, first=what the photographer is happy with, second what the photographer is happy for other to view, three the photograph is good enough to go commercial.

Re: Can anyone help?

I agree Baz. In photography there are many routes to the correctly exposed image and no single one is the only correct way. Bit like MS Word, twenty odd ways to execute the same command
