Azz - My idea of a cold day is when it drops below 15C. The whole snow and ice thing is going to be very interesting! But, if nothing else, it should be an experience!

It sure sounds like you are heading for a great adventure! Congratulations to you.

While I can't really offer anything in terms of snow photography tips, what I can offer to stay warm is to dress in layers. Wear wicking layers next to your skin and think wind-blocking (but breathable) layers on the outside. In-between; try fleece or wool. Cotton will hold moisture, thus isn't a great alternative.

I'm not a cold-weather expert, however, Minnesota gets cold in the winter with average temps ranging from 6F to 16F depending on where in the state one is. If I didn't dress appropriately, I'd be couped up inside for a long, long time!

Some lovely advice there - and a FAB trip - I am greeeen with envy - have a jolly good time, and post LOTS of photos!
