Re: Random birds

Never apologize Phil for there being too many images of the same species of bird Never tire looking at the photos, lovely birds they are, and a good set of images again
Most species of bird except pigeons have seemed to of vacated our garden now, maybe feeding times have changed now darker nights are drawing in. I know that i have hardly had to fill up seed or fatballs for some weeks now, they are going down slowly but nothing like back in August where i was filling feed up every couple of days.

Re: Random birds

We're struggling for bird species in the garden to at the moment, which is driving me mad, I'm very keen to be out there doing some shots Have yet to try this lens out on the garden passerines!

Lovely shots Phil - really like the Sp'r'awk and image number 5!

Re: Random birds

Great shots as normal Phil.

When shooting the sparrowhawk did you have the camera on spot metering? It's very clear.

Re: Random birds

Generally for birds in flight I'll use spot metering, certainly if they're going to be against a bright pale sky.

I'll normally have exposure compensation dialled in a full stop up for a bit of extra brightness. It means the shutter speed will be a smidge slower but then I'll just manually adjust the ISO to retain the speed I need.
