Hello everyone! Some advice on my pictures???

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to this site and by NO means a true photographer. I have only a 100 dollar digital camera and I just got into taking photos at all. Here are the links to some of my photos:

Please let me know what you think about them generally. I know I need a better camera, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks everyone for your input!

Hi Myra

Welcome to YoP

You might get more feedback on your images if you post them on the forum rather than providing links.

Re: Hello everyone! Some advice on my pictures???

I edited your post to include the photos - when posting from photobucket you just need to select their 'post on forums' option - which will give you code in IMG tags ready for you to copy and paste

Some interesting subjects there If you want better quality you might want to look at a DSLR - you could probably get a Nikon D40 fairly cheap second hand

Hi Myra, welcome to YOP.

I think you have done well with your small camera so far, I like the ginger cat shot the best.

With your pet shots if you get down to the same height as your subject this will give a more pleasing angle.

Re: Hello everyone! Some advice on my pictures???

Great start Myra, as Ken suggested, try to get down lower with pets, rather than take shots of them from above. You are doing well with your flower shots. Keep practising whenever you can, the more you use your camera, the better your photos become

Welcome to the forum, and don't be shy if you have any questions x

Re: Hello everyone! Some advice on my pictures???

Welcome to Yop! Love your cat <3

I agree with the others, get down close, and try where possible not to cut any parts off a full body image - such as with the last shot - the foot, tips of the toes and the tail have all been chopped

Thanks everyone! I've seen so many wonderful pictures on this site and to be frank I expected to be chopped to pieces for my beginner looking pictures. I appreciate the advice SO much!!
