Portencross and fire clouds above goatfell

A few shots from Portencross and the hills of Arran, taken today

1) 241 sec, f16, ISO50

2)Shot this one with my 400mm and 50d. It really looked like the clouds above the Arran hills were on fire as the Sun was going down.

3) 65sec, f16, ISO50

4) 81 sec, f16, ISO50

5) 400mm and 50d

6) 969 sec (16 minutes), f16, ISO50
This shot took over half an hour including noise reduction. During this exposure, I made myself a coffee, took Loki a walk and pulled out my 400mm and 50d for the fire clouds above goatfell.

The water looks a little sludgey in this set for me, and they don't seem to have that amazing light you usually capture but that firecloud is amazing!!!!

Yes, the water has a dirty look about it probably because there was no sunlight reflecting off of it, combined with the long exposures and of course the water looking generally dark Not what you would call a day for photography (with the exception of the sunlit cloud above Arran) but didn't stop me as I was eager to try out my new B+W 10 stop ND filter, which I did with the 16 minute exposure.
