Fujifilm 5700 or 6500?

I'm appealing to anyone with Fuji knowledge here.

I'm hopefully getting a new camera for Christmas, and I've narrowed it down to these two, but I just don't know which to go for!

I'm basically looking to get better quality images, better action pictures and this is a camera I want to progress with.

I was leaning towards the 6500, but after being to the local camera shop today and looking at the 5700 (they didn't have the 6500!) I love how light it is, and I was really quite impressed with it.

Any help is very much appreciated, I'm completely stumped!

Don't hold me to this.. but I 'think' the 6500 has more features and slightly better PQ.. I think Carole has experience of the 6000 series tho so might see this and reply too

Re: Fujifilm 5700 or 6500?

Het there.

I have the fuji s5000 and the s5700.

Both are great personally i prefer the 5000 but i think thats because i know it inside out.

I am sure the 6500 has a few more qualities but do check out the spec you can google each camera and compare.

But beware the newer camera may lose a quality or two.

For example the 5000 can shoot in raw while the 5700 cannot.

So just check out those specs and i look forward to seeing yout first pics over the christmas period.

Re: Fujifilm 5700 or 6500?

I have the fuji s9500 which is very similar to s6500 you are looking at. It looks like the 6500 can shoot in raw whereas the 5700 can't as Jols mentioned. So it would depend what you want out of your camera.
I quite like the look of the 6500 and it would probably be my choice from the 2 you are looking at.
