Re: Which DSLR

We take a lot of cruises..and changing lenses was a huge problem for me on the islands..where it was usually windy and had sand blowing around almost every direction.
I purchased a Tamron 18-270, and absolutely love it.

Has some issues as every all purpose lens does, but Lightroom does a pretty good job of lens corrections.
(buildings are a problem..much like a wide angle lens but less so)

Another option.
Kit 1
Canon Rebel T5i
Tamron 18-270 mm
Sigma 10-20 mm
Canon EF 50 mm 1.8
Canon EFS 18-55 mm

Re: Which DSLR

Looking at reviews on the Tamron 18-270 it seems there are quite a few issues.

Re: Which DSLR

There are indeed some issues, and it in't an L lens by any means.

I don't use it wide open or at full zoom very often, so many of the issues can be avoided.

I bought it for an all purpose travel lens..and on the whole am happy with the majority of images. Most are scenery.
I do tend to up the ISO to get a faster shutter speed at times, but feel focusing is too slow for sports.
Depends on how you plan to use your lens.

Re: Which DSLR

Thanks once again Sharon.

Seems a total minefield. I definitely need a big lottery win.
