Tripod head

Had a look and owned a few but the best I found was this

It is on a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod with a Manfrott MVH502AH head.

AS seen above it easily hold a Nikon D800 with battery grip and a Nikon AF-s 80-400mm lens which isn,t exactly light.

Ok why this head in particular?

A lot of DSLR cameras have movie capabilities and as such need a stable support . Fluid heads are the answer and ones that can carry the weight which this one does easily. Also for stills can be quickly positioned and locked off, or for camera removal just release clamp and press slide release button.

Balance is often a factor so overlooked between camera and lens but with this head that is again easy via the sliding head which has a safety mech to stop it falling out. Ok not cheap, around 120 mark for the head but you get quality which lasts.

Manfrotto XPRO Geared

Re: Tripod head

Been working for a photography company CamYogi website for quite a few months now. And I have been using the Manfrotto XPRO Geared 3-way Pan/Tilt Head for my Sony A7M3 as well as Nikon D7200 every time I have to cover an event. And I have to say, it is really good!
