Been and done it at long last

DECISION MADE!!!!

Just ordered a Nikon D800 and spare Nikon battery. from Amazon supposed to get it Tuesday.

Although a lot of the features are the same as the D300 there also is a lot of difference as well. So its a case of study and learn new techniques. Even the video side of it will be different to my camcorder.
So why did I decide on the D800 against the D600? very tough call to make and a good question.
I think it boiled down to things like 1/8000 sec shutter speed -lower ISO- choice of memory cards not just the SD card- not stuck with the infrared remote which I think is rubbish anyway- better crop facility if needed- and the reports, on say youtube, from people like me as well as experts.

At the end of the day I decided I wanted a proper pro camera against a pro/am one, but anyone else has to make their own decisions which to get, and believe me that isn't easy. Its taken me weeks to make a decision.

good for you! I need to make up my mind to decide which one to buy, D600 or D800. BTW, what's your idea on D800, is it good? or better than D600 doing portraits?
