Re: toadstool

Thanks all . For anyone interested I used a Manfrotto Tripod 055XPROB together with a Manfrotto 322RC2 head. This was spread out to max width on the legs to ground level, with a Nikon D200 and a Tamron 90mm macro lens. I also set the camera onto mirror lockup and a wireless remote shutter release to further prevent camera shake. The rest of the settings can be found on the exif files.

OOps spotted my not deliberate mistake on the Exif files = ISO 1600. Now why on earth didn't I check that setting first, would have reduced "noise".
Slap my wrist.

I always find it interesting on how others take photos so thought I would share my method for this kind of shot.

Re: toadstool

Far better having applied noise reduction, same fungi different time of day/light.

Re: toadstool

Bob

It was taken with the camera about 2 inches off the ground. Agree it would have been fantastic looking up from underneath but it would need a bendy long thin lens to do that.

Thanks for your comment it is really appreciated.

Re: toadstool

I hope you realize I was just joking. You did a great job to get that far down. You'd have to dig a deeeeep hole real close to it and get down in that hole to shoot up. Just a thought. LOL

Re: toadstool

But of course i did Mike but the thought of such a lens would be fantastic. I have seen nature films on TV where a fibre optic cable has been put down animal holes and photographed, wish they would consider a consumer version.
