Re: What type of photography site would you like to see?

OneEyeland is amazing isn't it!? I believe I found it through the owner on Deviantart, and he invited me to join (invited all his DA watchers I expect) - and so I've been a member since he started it. I really would like to get involved, but it's way out of my league. For a while it seemed only to accept stuff taken on medium format or better kit - so DSLRs were a bit too amateur! :/ I think it does accept them now though.

Would like to see something like that for amateurs, and it'd be lovely to have Azz's idea of those who do well with their stuff get 'promoted' to being on there!

Perhaps one where you could upload/post photos and then others could score or 'mark' your photo (out of 10, on things like composition, exposure, editing, etc)

Or one where you could post images and only people you have added as friends could comment on them?

Or....???

highest scoring photos get promoted

Marking out of 10 may work, I don't know. My own opinion would be the same, you would have to comment on why you have scored that.
Also I would have it so you must comment on at least 3 other pictures before you can post one. Or you'll just have people that put a picture up and wait the praises to roll in.

I think marking out of 10 is a totally dreadful idea....personally.

Re: What type of photography site would you like to see?

I would like to see a dedicated site for movie cameras and films. There are enough dealing with stills photography, but hardly any except for out and out professional film makers with £thousands of gear.

What is really wanted is one for people like us who either have camcorders or DSLR's even camera phones nowadays with movie mode who don't make a living out of it but can show what can be achieved. So much to discuss like FPS -memory cards - minimum computer processers- lighting -how to and how can- movie editing- best to get - owners experience- microphones- wind noise suppression- etc

Lol @ Skyline

I've never been keen on 'forcing' people to do things like that tbh, and always believe as an admin you should let people enjoy the site for what 'they' want to use it for. However that's not to say you can't reward 'wanted' behaviour so maybe people who take time out to score people's photos get points or something
