Re: Scavenger Hunt (New competition)

Maybe start with it on a monthly basis and if it takes off then think about doing it weekly. Maybe see how many enter this thread first too?

Re: Scavenger Hunt (New competition)

Well now ...on the group I am with ...you can actually *scavenge* more than one thing in a single picture For example ..the list I gave today ...if Sam had posted a pic of Lupo wearing a red collar that could count as two on the list ...but only one picture See?

9 Pics is the maximum ...it is 9 objects this week ..with a bit of creativity , one photo would cover everything , think about it

Yes you would have done ...but after a little while, Big Huge Labs tracks the people who direct link and close the link down ..surely you have heard of this practise before? It is called Hotlinking. Once you had seen the images, they remain in your cache so that when you revisit the page, it appears as though they are still there.

When I looked at Sams post, all I could see was a note from BHL's saying NO DIRECT LINKING

Yes, but you would still need to get 9 different photo's to make up the mosaic (well I guess you could use the same picture 9 times but that would be a little boring ).

Yes Mel, I am perfectly aware of what hotlinking is I would say the majority of images people display on this forum are hotlinked. We don't have the ability to embed images here do we? (I wouldn't know - I always hotlink mine ).

Nope, you only need to do a mosaic if you actually do 9 pics, if you manage all the items in one, you post one photo

Well I thought you would be aware of it ..I don't understand why you were saying you could see Sams pics earlier then ...sorry, just confused My pics here are not generally hotlinked, linking to Flickr and Photobucket is legitimate as you probably know
