A few of our feathery friends

Just a few pics of recent visitors to our garden and in the skies around the area i live in. Unfortunately not as many different species of birds that i would like to see here.

The most difficult bird that i have attempted to capture has to be the Red Kite, im yet to get a perfectly sharp image, this one has to be one of my better attempts though

Enjoy.

Re: A few of our feathery friends

Like that 2nd pic. The bird seems to be thinking, decisions decisions

Re: A few of our feathery friends

I had named the 2nd pic `The Poser` but `The Thinker` seems apt as well

Re: A few of our feathery friends

Starlings love fat balls, like the first shot of the sparrow.

Re: A few of our feathery friends

Tell me about it Ken, they are going through them like nobodies business, im getting to a point where i have to fill most of the fat ball feeders back up every other day.

Im lucky Musky to live in the Chilterns, an area known for its ever increasing red kite population, from home i catch sight of them every few days when the weather is dry, half the time they are chasing or being chased by other birds a few hundred feet up, on the rare occasion they do fly in low but by the time your ready with the camera they have vanished, they remain on my `to capture list` With only using a 300mm lens though i may have to end up traveling away from home in order for me to get that perfect picture, or purchase a bigger lens, although that is no use for me at the moment whilst im still getting used to my current equipment.

Thanks for all your comments as always
