just the hedges to cut back now

Managed to cut the grass (at last) just got to do all the hedges now. That's if the rain holds off during the week. Me thinks I will have to order a skip for this lot.

Good compost heap needed. Or dry for hay for horse owners.

Re: just the hedges to cut back now

I've been cutting grass in the back field too Bazza. It was long overdue and a nightmare.

Naughty boy cutting hedges between start of March and end of July though

Re: just the hedges to cut back now

With the bad weather we have had its the first chance to get some gardening done. Also I am only cutting what is growing through the mesh fence from the field next door. looks like a large skip will be needed to get rid of it all. Think we have had less than 10 sunny days this year, never known so much continuous rain .

Re: just the hedges to cut back now

Even so, cutting hedges at this time of year is not right, rain or otherwise... it's actually illegal here in Ireland...

Seems it's not quite so strict in UK, but still - bad to do it.

Re: just the hedges to cut back now

In my situation I have to cut the hedges so dogs don't get eye injuries in our exercise paddock or get sued for not ensuring dogs are exercised safely if they get hurt

Not only that should staff get injured health and safety would be down on me like a ton of bricks

Still you can do it this way and mow a hedge
