Re: CS5, anybody going to upgrade?

I do a lot of work with layers so I was desperate to upgrade to any CS until I came across a free action so that I can add layers masks.
So now I can mask away to my hearts content!
I am sure I would enjoy CS5, but I don't feel held back by Elelemnts at the moment.

Re: CS5, anybody going to upgrade?

Elements is an example of great user friendly software. I have version 6 & 7 on my computers along with Photoshop CS4. I'm upgrading to version CS5 and may take off the Elements software as I've finally learned enough about CS4 to exceed the techniques I'd learned in Elements 7.

I've been a staunch advocate of Kelby Online Training for years now, since Elements 6.0. I'm still learning like crazy and have recently added Kindle format books to my arsenal of learning methods. Amazon.com has software called Kindle for PC that is downloadable for free. Amazon sells a lot of it's photographic books in Kindle AZW format that you can read on your PC with that software. It saves trees and cost less than paper copies.

Re: CS5, anybody going to upgrade?

I'm a massive HDR fan, mainly use multiple shots and never use pseudo HDR. Had a try of the new pseudo HDR in CS5 and I'm impressed:

Here is the original processed version:

HDR was from a jpeg generated from the RAW file, so I'm very impressed with the detail it's teased out of the engine bay.

Re: CS5, anybody going to upgrade?

Just downloaded the trial, but I think it's a forgone conclusion, I'll buy it
