Nikon MX format

Has anybody read anything about Nikon announcing a MX format 48mm X 48mm sensor ?

DX = 1.5x (Half frame)
FX = 1.0x (Full frame)
MX = 0.5x

Rumours seem to be doing the rounds that Nikon are thinking BIG (Digital Rangefinder) although opinions seems to differ on how this will work with FX lenses and whether it would be used for DSLR.

'Nikon Rumours' have a copy of a Nikon advert (page 148 of Rangefinder Magazine) which says.... Something BIG is coming to WPPI(Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) 2009

Re: Nikon MX format

Didn't I read somewhere the MX lens is for the new D90 movie camera?
