Re: Photographing Fish

Is it the reflection or the distortion caused by the water that is the problem. Not that I can promise to think of anything to help.

Re: Photographing Fish

I would try manual focus as the af will have a tendency to focus on the reflection. Also, is it possible to shine light into the tank via the top? Think that might help so long as the fish are ok with it..

Re: Photographing Fish

A circular polarizer will cut down reflections.

Link to tutorial, click on picture, short promo film first but let the video run

The tank has a light on top so that's covered. Manual focus is an idea though as focus was certainly an issue.

Good point Bazza. I lost my 67mm one ages ago but I've a smaller one for my nifty fifty so I'll try that.
