Re: Some photos during experimentation! dalmatians - tips wanted

Wow thanks for that Snapper...

I'll have to go and see if I can play about with it a bit... I only have a basic version of photoshop and no clue as to how to use it but I'll see what I can do!

Thanks for the tips - I might have a play tonight

Due to not having photoshop at all! (It's a new laptop - forgot I hadn't got PS) I've had to do a crop on window's gallery... is this any better or too narrow?

Well done Lottie, now what do you think? Would you have liked a little more around him, or are you happy with that, not that you have much choice if you do not have anything to amend it with.

I'm quite pleased with it... I don't think it would've hurt to have a little more around him BUT you can't really be distracted by anything else! It's certainly HIS picture

I'll send it to his owner and see what she thinks Thanks for the tip! It certainly looks better than the version with T's bum in!

I think I had the same camera as you, something I found helped when taking shots of dogs, esp action is to get down to their level, as has been said, and then half press the shutter, and track the action until the moment you want to capture, then fully press. I got some decent shots (took me a while to perfect) with practice.

Think that is fine, IMO the person that has to be pleased with any shot they take is the photographer, after that if others like it that’s a bonus. Sure that the Tan dogs owner will be delighted with it you may even have to go and take some more.

Thanks BlackGrace!

I've been practising with half pressing the capture button but my hands aren't very steady and I lose it just as I find a good picture! Oh well - practice makes perfect!
