Re: What are your favourite three photos and why?

Oooh... interesting... I'd like a thread on three favourite photos by someone else too!

Erm... my favourites are the following.

1. White Faced Scops Owl - Ebbw Vale Owl Sanctuary. Taken on Nikon D80 with a Nikkor 105mm VR Macro lens. What I love about this is the expression, the tones, the colour... I just love everythign about this photo! I can't wait for a suitable competition to enter it in, as I had it in an exhibition a while back and it received a lot of very positive comments.

2. Greenfinch - Knocknageehy, Castlefreke, Cork, Ireland. Nikon D80 with Sigma 50-500mm. I love this shot - I still don't really know why - I just think it's a classic bird portrait - it's not doing anything interesting, but it doesn't need to. I love the composition (though now, I would take a little off the right). I also always loved how haughty and proud he looks.

3. 'Mel' - Clonakilty Camera Club. Nikon D80 and Nikkor 105mm VR Macro. The macro makes a fab portrait lens, and I loved all the portraits I took with it on that night - the lighting was fantastic too - and the quality of the shots was absolutely blinding. Sadly you cn't see that so well in this upload, as discussed before on another thread it lost the quality because of the size I uploaded it! I must upload a better version one day - but the quality is superb and I can look at it for hours

There are so many others - and it changes regularly! Will be interesting to see what others add.
