Arty Axel - Critique on PP please

I've edited these on Picnik on FB, so I know they won't be up there with photoshop edits, but do you like the general look and they types of PP I've gone for? Do you think the effects I've chosen suit the pictures? Of course comments on the pictures themselves appreciated too, always willing to learn!

I am far from an expert, I really like the 3rd one down effect.

Firstly HI BG..picnik is an excelent editing suite..if you are thinking to sign up to Picnikpro then I would say 'do it'...without hesitation

good clear , crisp shots

When you feel ready to move on a step..try some odd angles, low shots, high shots..unexpected angles.

You have the eye... xxx

Thank you That's the matte effect, I've not really used it before

I pay for the premium version if that's what you mean? I love it! I do wish it did layers though, it's big flaw for me, I love messing around with layers. I will try different angles, thank you

Re: Arty Axel - Critique on PP please

Hi BG,

Number 1: Really like the general comp on this shot, also I have a weak spot for this sort of light, it can bring out colours and textures so beautifully.

I like your edit, but the only thing that bothers me slightly is the colour of the sky, it a bit green or turquoise.

Number 2: Is a great shot, but you have cut the tail off.

Number 3: Nice shot and good effect, if I was really going to nit-pick, the blacks want bringing up a little bit.

Number 4: Lovely portrait, like the frame effect, as it's a close up, it would have been nicer without the muzzle though.

Number 5: Same as above. Also I wonder what this shot would look like with a portrait crop instead of the landscape crop, I'm not sure though.

All in my opinion of course

Like 2 and 4 but the colours seem a bit oversaturated on the remainder.

Thank you for that detailed reply I appreciate the comments, I hadn't noticed I'd cut off the tail, doh! What do you mean by bringing up? Lighten? I take your point about the muzzle, I wish I didn't have to muzzle him, but if he's off-lead, he's muzzled. He's not aggressive in the slightest, but he's still an ex-racer and has the potential to accidentally hurt a small dog or catch a squirrel. I'll try a portrait crop, thanks!

Thank you, I did oversaturate them a little on purpose, it was the look I was going for. I don't know if they worked or not, just trying things out with these, so thanks
