Re: Lock & Keepers Cottage

Unfortunately Dave the version of photoshop i have does not have all the things needed in the program to do a proper color popping image, i think CS3 was recommended.
Your image worked so well Dave `family on the beach` you had the point of interest there, central to the image, once color popped it gave the image depth and could not help but stand out.
For the reasons i mentioned above really, it was the wrong image to choose.
I suppose if i do not try these things i will never learn what looks right or wrong

Ok Sharon

Cakey : Right another go, all black and white except for flowers. I left trees and hedges in B&W, darkened the image slightly and increased green slightly.

Re: Lock & Keepers Cottage

Lovely looking Cottage. Personally I would only have the red flowers showing. It's good that you are learning how to do it Mark. Took me ages to do.

Re: Lock & Keepers Cottage

Yes it is a pretty looking cottage Im not sure that there are enough red flowers in the image to draw attention to them. Its about learning what looks right, as Sharon says `Play, Play, Play` eventually i will produce an image that looks good but you cant have success until you have made many mistakes in the 1st place, well not if your me anyway. I cannot always see what other people can in my images, things that may look right to me may look so wrong to other people but with guidance im getting from members on here i am starting to head in the right direction
