Re: Nikon D200 or Canon 40D

I can't comment on the Nikon - but having been a 40D owner since launch - I can't say a bad word against it...

I recently used it to take some studio shots using an old old old studio lighting kit. It was so easy to set exposure, and the live view was a great great help!

I won't be changing for a while I'm sure

Re: Nikon D200 or Canon 40D

Think I've decided on a Canon 40D with EF-S 17-85mm 1:4-5.6 IS USM

Can get the body and lens together for £830. £100 cashback on body and £40 cashback on the lens. With a decided budget of £700 - I think It's a good deal at £690.

Nice choice you will be suprised at the difference a higher spec camera can do.

Just can't wait to get it now

I'll have to learn the controls all over again though but that's part of the fun.

Great choice - that's a far better lens to get started with than the stock Canon zoom.... When will you get it?

Just spotted this - I actually bought my existing Nikon 75-300 from Dawn but I already own a 75-300 Canon lens which has been out on loan to my big sis (Fudgeley) .

Re: Nikon D200 or Canon 40D

Phil

That Nikon lens was originally mine, Dawn sold it for me as I had just bought the same lens again but the VR version. It was the 70-300mm lens not a 75-300mm.

Im sure you will be happy with it. I have the 75-300mm lens, its very good and very reasonable, I will upgrade to the IS version when my pocket allows.
