Twilight Trails...

Now I wan't 100% sure on where to put these exactly, seeing as my shots are borderline astrophotography/landscape. However, I'm sure they'll be fine here...

This is a little something that I haven't done for a while due to lack of spare time, nothing honestly beats getting outside on a winter's night with a hot drink, a camera and just staring up at the heavens.

Please comment and offer constructive criticism.

Re: Twilight Trails...

I would have really liked them more if the tree was a bigger part of the photo. Long, time exposure super saturate color and that tree is interesting. It's obvious you're into sky photography but check out the forum lessons on composition.

Is there anything I could do to improve my skill in this technique? Unfortunately excess light pollution from street lights and the flood lights from a nearby football field spoil these shots. I'll have to find a way around this or hunt for darker skies.

Unfortunately, more of said tree wouldn't look too good at a wider angle due to a rather obtrusive satellite dish creeping into the frame on the neighbour's house.

My entire house is surrounded by trees, which means I have only one or two places where I can get a good look at the sky.

Re: Twilight Trails...

Well done Luke.

Not really the sort of thing I do but I've tried a few of these in the past and I know it's not easy.

I like the first one where you can see the North Star in the center of the spiral.

I'd tried to look for your exif data (mainly for exposure lengths) but it's not letting me view it.

Thanks.

Sorry about the EXIF data, Flickr removes it every time I make a couple of small edits (watermarks) using Piknik, so I stick the details in the descriptions. Click the links to the photos and you'll find the main details just below.
