Re: Canals

Lovely composition and reflections.

I miss the canal (the Bridgewater Canal) where I grew up. There was something nice about just walking the dogs in a straight line knowing they were either just ahead of me or just behind. I used to see so much wildlife too all within a sensible distance.

Re: Canals

Nice Gaz, I love canals too, they remind me of how nice and slow the pace of life used to be.

Re: Canals

Very nice Gaz. I like canals, the water is often calm, as in your shot, giving lovely reflections.

Re: Canals

I really like these beautiful red brick buildings. Great colour and reflection in this shot, also wonderful straight lines heading to the end of the picture. The little mud path adds a tone of fun to the shot, all that beautiful reflection , gentle waters and colours, then a wee bit of mud on the side

It happened to me at the local Wildlife marsh last weekend, when I turned quickly to take a shot of a Goldcrest, slid down the bank and up WAY above me kneeses in the water...I went through a layer of ice, it was...sub-tropical. I had 3 adams apples for two days after...

And this is all I could manage with the Goldcrest. If you look he's laughing!
