Hi.Need advice on a point and click camera.

I am looking for some recommendations for apoint and click camera in the £100 price bracket. We already have canon cameras so keeping to that might be an idea but I am open to suggestions. The camera is for my daughter who is starting to be interested in photography. It will need to be able to point and shoot but would also need some creative functions to allow her to learn some techiques.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hi.Need advice on a point and click camera.

Hi Rachel,
I have a Panasonic DMC FX12, it is small easily fits into a pocket, both of my kids can use it easily, and have taken good pics with it , it even has a macro programme on it.

Here is some info about it.

I like it as I can pop it in my pocket if out with the dogs, or give it the kids to use when we go out

I've had no problems with my Canon Powershot A630, it's what I use to take videos of Jack at agility, but it may be a little bit more than you want to pay, but I've added a link for you

Just make sure that all your cameras will take the same card ie CF orSD.

Re: Hi.Need advice on a point and click camera.

The photo's that I've posted yesterday were with a Technika SH-C350. Didn't think it was any good but I'm one of these people who don't read the manual and expect it to work all on it's own! Turned a switch yesterday and after 2 months of calling the camera I got some quite good close-ups.

It's about £89.00 in Tesco at the moment. It's not big but it has a substantial weight to it.
