Heron in flight

Thought I'd whack this photo up here, as I was rather pleased with how it came out Grey Heron flying over Union Hall:

Shot at 370mm, f 6.3, 1/1250th sec. ISO 400 (if anyone's interested)

Really nice capture Laura, I've yet to get a decent shot of a Heron. Did you crop this image much?

No, hardly cropped at all really - just to get the shape I was after and the heron in the right place. We're lucky, they're very common here - *very* - and they are usually pretty tame. We could get pretty close to two of them on that day, just sitting there. Then this one flew off to join his friend on another perch, and I got this shot!

Now I'm armed with a long lens I can't wait till we're back at the holiday cottage as they are always lined up along the loch side.
