Re: My attempt at HDRI

Not got around to composing my own HDR yet. Here I'd say there's more shift towards the exposure on the slabs and the lighter areas of Mea such as the nails and the pads - it's very subtle. The 'tan' areas of the coat have toned down a bit too.
Kit 1
Canon 1D Mark 3
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Kit 2
1D2 & 40D

Re: My attempt at HDRI

Thanks Phil, there's more detail in the slabs as you say, but I tried to reduce brightness/contrast in PS and Mea looked awfull, I suppose I could've used the wand and adjusted the slabs but as K has already said you get more details/tones in HDRI. I took the original *.cr2 converted it into .tif and copied two others one +2 another -2 then merged them together.

Re: My attempt at HDRI

I'm going to give it a go although i keep hearing people going on about 'photomatix' software.

I'm sure there's plenty of advice on here if i look but i'm wondering if i.....

shoot 3 pics (or perhaps 2 to begin with) on a tripod with different settings then overlay them in photoshop.

Would for example - the darker more detailed sky overlay the burned out white sky and the darker foreground overlay the too bright one giving me a bold foreground and a bold sky ?

PS

Mea's coat looks stunning - very glossy

Well I did it the lazy way, (copying) the three pics merged very well and I had very little else to do.
