Well. my "toy camera" is a very nice toy! and does make okay pictures

Sally, it would seem its more of a lens issue than a camera one. Canon lenses tend to be better than (by a margin mind!) thank Nikon, but Nikons colour reproduction is better than Canons. You will find there is always subtle differences between the two brands.
