Re: Beached

just like to say Im 62 and still learning also
I have a whole series of pictures that I took that day ,there were two boats ,a beach ,rough sea ,cliffs blah blah blah so Beached was not the only shot but I felt this was one of the ones that was not a holiday snap

Re: Beached

It's a very flat image I'm afraid, and likely to be hard to work with. Your first edit of it is more pleasing than the original (to me!) and the Topaz edit is not great - it's overdone and those halos and dark patches are not attractive. Having said that, with slightly more accurate and careful PP work, without relying on a program to do it for you, you might get a very pleasing result in the same vein.

Re: Beached

I thought I would join in this thread not the football part, because I haven't got a clue about that...although I did work at Mr Chelski's..(you know the rich one)... house for about 18 months and did bump into him on odd occasions

Anyway back to the boat, for me personally it's overcooked...But I am all for people trying different things, after all if we didn't push the boundries and try to be different then everbodies stuff would look the same...so well done for having a go, and the next time you do something similar you might do your processing slightly different and learn something else..keep it up..

For me I would have tried a different composition and kept the processing a bit more subtle, but then we are all different and like different things.
