Sorry, I'm not being pedantic. I wondered given her current status as an EX-lover that she might be a tad unobliging. A woman scorned, and all that.

On release forms - the youths I told them I would put them on my flickr site - they were happy with that verbally. The Native girl - I had to get a release form completed as I do every time I do work for Military media operations unit.

For Unit & Groups formations so long as there are no minors involved I can simply get a one-off signatory (usually the Unit Press Officer) which gives release for all images taken during that particular serial. In one of my previous posts I explained that if I used MOD kit I would also lose copyright and reserved rights - which I why I decided to use my own gear and retain all rights, by agreement.

In other personal instances, I generally just ask permission from whoever I am photographing - that's usually enough to gain their full cooperation too.

Sorry - I've gone off thread; I just thought this an opportune moment to explain the protocols I (have to) follow.

On the picture personally it doesn't say anything for me - although it is a pleasing shot. I do wonder Lorna if the flares were deliberately set up intentionally, or natural and opportune?

Flares were just sunlight. There are a lot of other shots that don't have the flare on them.

As for getting permission for college or to post it on here, neither are necessary. You only have to ask permission in this country for a shot you're going to sell, and even then if you don't get permission and you're taken to court the person taking you to court may well lose if the picture is deemed to be of "artistic merit". You do have to get permission for things like the military, and I'm wary of photographing police due to the new anti-terrorism laws. But no, model releases are only necessary when money changes hands.

My tutors however would go nuts if they saw it here...!

Nice photo Lorna, bit strange taking photo's of someone naked while there asleep though.

Its a great shot, personally I would prefer the lens flare to be off centre of your subject, but other than that, a nice romantic, dreamy image.... albeit not so much now!

Nah I have my muse now my fiancee and about 50 other models lol, pic was of my ex (now friend) for a project regarding intimacy, notion behind it being that we are at our most vulnerable when we are sleeping, series also includes private moments between couples ranging from watching tv to intimate moments together.
