Im not sure if i can agree with you on that statement Azz?You will find alot of pros - unless going for a particular look - want to do minimum PP as its alot of work load otherwise. Further more, with the full manual control available, a pro should b able to achieve the DoF required with ease in camera

Re: Depth Of Field - Before or After?

Hey gang it's only an opinion. I didn't intend an argument to result from this post. There are always photos that need to sharpen or blur one portion of the photograph or another. Thank goodness for graphic software that alows for post processing for the effect we want. I picked a poor example with the bird shot as it was my first use of a new camera. Normally I shoot aperature priority & adjust the DOF.

Re: Depth Of Field - Before or After?

Many fashion photos are subject to PP (including adding dof), because it's not just the photographer who has a say on what the image should look like - whole teams can be involved (so sometimes what the photographer 'took' wasn't really what the rest of the team had in mind).
Kit 1
Nikon D300
Nikon 55-200mm VR
Kit 2
Nikon D40
Nikon 18-55mm
