Re: Low flying Raptor

See - some of those are much better

I have to say for once I don't quite agree with Phil on your first shot, to me it doesn't look like the handler and the owl, it looks like a person and an owl if you really look hard, because it really does blend in very strongly with the background.

Re: Low flying Raptor

So kind of you all, taking birds in flight, even at a centre where these were taken, isn't that easy considering the speed and closeness one works at. One of the reasons Zounds they are so good at what they do is because they can blend in well with the background.

Re: Low flying Raptor

Yes Bazza of course it is - which is why it's always nice for a good photographer to be able to pick out when they are at their best moments for photography purposes. Easier said than done of course, but always worth it in the end as far as I'm concerned. For example, (and I think this is an especially good example - despite not being his biggest fan) Andy Rouse's blog:

(29th March entry - the tawny owl in the trees in particular). Thought this was rather interesting!

Zoundz

Ah but he is a professional photographer making a living from photography, and that the difference, i'm not.

You just can't compare like for like, if you did you would say and old morris minor car is the same as a brand new Rolls Royce. That is a comparable difference between your example and myself.

Re: Low flying Raptor

I'm not comparing Bazza... I was simply sharing them! Of course, I feel that aspiration is half the battle... if we didn't strive to improve, really what would the point be?
