Re: Wilstone, Marsworth, Tringford, Startops end Res and College Lake

Thank you Laura.
I just wish i could of captured a better image of the Pipit, close up it does not look good They are so fast as well, plenty of time i was just lining up lens and before it got into focus it had gone again.

Why i thought it was a Water Pipit over a Rock Pipit is because of the color of its breast, whiter than the Rock Pipits, The white breasts are Water Pipits winter colors and they are seen in the South of the UK during Winter time, according to the RSPB website. Although all 3 Pipits have very similar markings, especially summer colors, i definitely would not be able to tell the difference between them.

I will crop last image for you, but i know for sure that you will get it straight away. I just thought that i would post it like it was to show how difficult it was to see

Done a crop on the Pipit too, but again it has a touch of the blurs.

You've certainly managed to find a good mix of birds there.

I think the Robin is my favourite.

Re: Wilstone, Marsworth, Tringford, Startops end Res and College Lake

Thank you Phil.
It did help going out a little earlier in the morning I was hoping that the Brent Goose was still up at Wilstone Reservoir, for the last few weeks a Juvenile has been seen in one of the surrounding fields and occasionally seen coming to waters edge to drink, something different from the usual Canada Geese i see.
I still need a lot of practice photographing smaller wild birds in trees, i may have to start using manual focus instead on relying on the lens, as that will always focus onto the closest thing, the Robin was perfectly positioned, but i could not see it much with the bright sun.

Re: Wilstone, Marsworth, Tringford, Startops end Res and College Lake

It could well be a Water Pipit! As I said, my pipit skills are horrific! It's certainly pale enough in the leg and under to be a Water Pipit - especially if they're more common where you are - they make bird news here I've seen rock pips look like that, but not often to be fair.

The last one is a Snipe I'd say!

Thanks Laura And spot on with the Snipe I could not believe how difficult it was to see, i could not see it without using lens on camera to find it.
