Re: Joining the Darkside....

Here's to non flag waving, camera tarts, across the globe "Equal rights for cameras"

I have bought some very nice glass for my D300, getting prepared to go FF, BUT, lenses seem to hold their value very well, so I'd rather make a switch now, if that makes sense.

Do you think Azz could put "Camera Tarts" under our names?

Don't have high expectations though, it took me a while to get to grips with my Nikon, I am totally clueless with Canon

Um, I don't consider the Magnesium-Alloy body of my 5DMk11 to be 'plasticky' !!

Re: Joining the Darkside....

I have no idea yet It was actually the owner of the camera who described it as much more plasticky, than a Nikon in feel. He said I would notice a difference, I shall let you know, if I find it that way.

It wasn't a put down of Canon, I am completely neutral and indifferent about camera brands

Re: Joining the Darkside....

I'm sure you will like it Moonstone, just remember everything works the right way round on Canons

To be fair to Canon & Nikon, both make stella cameras I think its us that make the biggest difference to how well our gear works. Also each manufacturer keeps the other on their toes, which is to our advantage.

Now don't forget to post some pics when you can

Re: Joining the Darkside....

Welcome to the dark side... you are going to love it!!!

My 5D goes everywhere with me and i don't treat it as anything special or for specific shots at the end of the day it is a camera... just a damn fine one! It is the lenses that make up the weight for me though, carrying it around all day with the 70-200mm on it can really give you a crook in the neck, but have enjoyed running around Vegas with the 28-80mm on it treating it as a point and shoot (apart from Manual settings of course LOL). Off to Grand Canyon tomorrow so will have a chance to really play with the landscape lens on it.

Let me know how you get on with it. It is always a good thing to try different makes and models.

Grand Canyon - I'm not jealous - honest.

I'm sat here with an elderly ill cat that's all swollen up - diuretic injection to try and reduce fluid (lord it's working) and being an outside cat means she doesn't really know what this new litter tray thing is for.

Rant over - I agree - it's an enjoyable challenge to take on something new....
