A converter is like a little secondary lens that you attach to the camera and then attach your lens to.

They come in different amounts. This one is X2 so it basically doubles the length of the lens you are using. It's by no means as good as having an actual lens of the length but it's an affordable 'cheat'. I gave somebody £20 for mine which is a C-AF1 2X TELEPLUS MC7. You'll find them on ebay easily enough. It's worth mentioning they reduce the amount of light getting through the lens so with slower lenses you may loose your autofocus.

I'm sure somebody in the know will have a better explanation but Cromatic aberration is something to do with wavelengths of light through a lens and is sometimes visible as colours around an image as not all of the colours in the spectrum are in focus. As a converter magnifies your image it also magnifies the aberrations.

Re: Now I can go to 960mm

Thanks for asking Zoundz I was wondering too.

So it works like a filter sort of just attaches to your existing lens?

Thanks for the explaining Phil.
