It is really tricky to use though, and quite difficult for scenes where objects are moving directly towards or away from you because of the manual focusing.

I was worried it would be confusing, I wanted to just set my 5d mark II up on a tripod for my wedding next week and let it roll so that I have two different perspectives of the day - if its manual focusing its probably best that I don't try it....never mind

There are a couple of issues there, firstly the focus, you could focus on where the bride and groom will stand, and just record that spot, you would get the wedding vows at least, if stop the aperture down as far as you can then you would get some latitude on peoples movement.

The second problem is recording time, all the Canon's stop recording after 4GB, which is about 12-15 minutes on HD and 20-25 minutes on SD (depending on the ISO used). this can be very limiting also.

We congratulations on your wedding anyway, enjoy your big day, I still remember my wedding day with much fondness, even though it was about 17 years ago now lol.

Maybe you could persuade Bazza to video his first wedding with his new toy
