Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

She has stopped using the camera and friends are taking pics for her. She is also using her phone to take some as well. She will buy a new card if she gets the chance.

thanks so much everyone. You have no idea what a bad day it has been for me her being away on her birthday. Her being upset and away was the icing on the cake. You have at least given me some hope she will get her pics back.....

Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

was it at all accessed vire a pc at all? maybe the folder hierarchy was played with by changing name etc, this could cause it to show them as missing.

Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

although the pictures may be missing, if the card hasn't been formatted the data will still be on it . If its a Sandisk card they come with a retrieval disc. If its another type there are programs that can recover the data she just needs to do a bit of searching on the internet..It would be helpful if the make of card was mentioned.

Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

I just had a thought Rach.

In the spanner and hammer drop down menu there's an option to 'create folder'.

If she's accidentally created a new folder then she might only be seing the pics in that folder.

It's a long shot - but just a thought.

Better get on with my work now.

She must be so upset about the pics, but hopefully they are still there, somewhere, fingers crossed

That must of been tough , having her so far away on her birthday, glad she ended up having a really nice day though. I bet she is having a wonderful time, New York is fab! xxx

Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

Most modern laptops have SD memory card readers. If you can plug the memory card in question into such a drive it will show everything on the disk that's recoverable. Since 33 photos have been taken since the missing files if the card was accidentally was formatted writing 33 new files on that card would destroy the original photos. Let us know if you had any luck recovering these lost treasures.

Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

Well It's not good news folks. I tried a couple of different bits os software(thanks Yopers) and we were unsuccessful.

The weird thing was it recovered files that had been taken prior to her trip which had been deleted but nothing from Boston or New York.It seems we have everything taken before and after and a few black files .....So obviously even taking the Washington pics did not over-write files from back home which had been deleted prior to the trip!

Thanks again for all your help, now I need to send some discs out to all her friends to dowload copies for her of their photos....

Oh for those who wanted to know it is a SanDisk.....4GB. Would you bin the card now? Was it the cards fault?

Re: My daughters photos have "disappeared off her camera" please help?

A lot of the cards have a3 even 5 year warranty Fudge, so maybe give them a ring? They might replace it for you.

RE not finding the photos, could be a a part of the card has failed hence it not picking them up :-/
