Re: Is it me or the camera!

All good advice suggested, if you want to post a few pics with the camera settings, we might be able to see the problem, so it's easier for us to make suggestions x

Re: Is it me or the camera!

Agree with Moonie.

Try a few test shots and post them up - it's much easier to tell whether it's 'you or the camera' that way.

Re: Is it me or the camera!

Cleaning the lens seems to have helped a bit!! However, I seem to have an incredibly short depth of field but can't for the life of me work out how to change it, can't find my manual but pressing the buttons as per online suggests doesn't seem to work!!

Re: Is it me or the camera!

Increased depth of field requires a smaller aperture. So if you shot at f3.5, increase to f5.6 then f.8 and f11 untill you get the DOF you need, bearing in mind that to get the same exposure shutter speeds will become slower, so keep an eye on them and use a tripod if needed.

Re: Is it me or the camera!

On the top plate of the camera there should be a dial. On this dial, if like most Canon cameras, there should be little green square icon. Turn the dial so that this lines up with the mark on the camera and try that.

This is a fully auto mode and will try to give you the best shutter speed/aperture combination possible in the prevailing light onditions.

Re: Is it me or the camera!

I have it on that setting Steve, maybe it's lack of lighting?
