Canon SX210 vs Panasonic TZ10/TZ7, TZ8

LOL!

Want a compact camera as whenever I go anywhere my bags are always full of things like towels, my food, my water, rocky's water, rocky's treats, keys, phone etc and because both Rocky and I drink lots of water that's over usually 3 to 4 ltrs I am carrying! Hence want a P&S instead of carrying a SLR. Plus I could keep a P&S with me all the time.

So anyway, just looking at the PQ of the Canon PowerShot SX210, and I'm quite impressed! Anyone got it? What do you think?

Few images I found taken with the Canon PowerShot SX210:

My other choice would be the Panasonic TZ7 as that gets lots of good reviews and again some cracking images, but the batter doesn't seem to last very long, and the newer TZ8 is not meant to be quite as good (tho has more megapixels).

Any other suggestions?

As a Tz8 owner, the one that isn't supposed to be so good I am finding it a cracking P&S TBH.

The Canon one looks okay too

I think the TZ7 is last years model of the TZ10 and the TZ8 is the (current) model below the TZ10 - lol confusing isn't it!?

Re: Canon SX210 vs Panasonic TZ10/TZ7, TZ8

I'm thinking of getting a good compact too (not that I can afford it).
I do find it restrictive lugging around the DSLR while chasing kids and would love to have a compact that lives in my coat pocket.
I'll probablly follow Moonies reccomendation and get the TZ8.

Canon G11 is the compact i'd go for, built like a tank and only a sniff away from SLR quality.

Not actually that big, not significantly bigger than ay reasonable compact. Unless you buy one of the faddy ones and have really poor image quality.

Re: Canon SX210 vs Panasonic TZ10/TZ7, TZ8

These are from my TZ8 this afternoon, nothing special just some snaps of Meggie in the garden and randomness in the garden, but these are all SOOC , the quality is very good for a P&S. Oh , ETA that it is small enough to fit into the pocket of my skinniest jeans,so if you do want a small P&S it's ideal.
