Photoshop Content Aware: Wow!

Check out the new content-aware tool in photoshop CS5 - looks awesome!

Seen a version of this before Azz.

We used to say photoshop helped those without photography skills.

I guess 'new' photoshop now helps those without photoshop skills.

Joking aside - It's actually a bit sad to see.

I know we've been able to do these things before (albeit with a little more in the way of Photoshop 'savvy') but I'd be fibbing if I said that the ease in which an image can be enhanced didn't annoy me a little.

I know time is money when it comes to shooting Corn Flakes or Pampers but when I read how people like Colin Prior climb a mountain 5 days in a row with medium format gear and are eventually rewarded with that one magical shot - I appreciate what sets them apart from the rest of us.

I actually like what they are achieving, especially with the panoramic shoot. Lets hope its a patch that can be added to other CS Photoshop versions

I've actually used it before, only marginally due to a brief needed to fit a panoramic photo into a 1:4 ratio format. But I do appreciate what your saying phil, it by no means perfect though, and often leaves you with strange artifacts etc.

wowee - that is cool!

Fascinating stuff, but I'm with Phil on this. We could end up where the top grade cameras and lenses become superfluous. Just need a mobile phone and a super-duper editing suite!!
