Goldfinch and Bluetit

I have been spectacularly unlucky with Goldfinch. Always tried to photograph them, but it never worked out. They were always too far away, or disappeared before I could fire any shots. Well - yesterday I finally got lucky!

and another Bluey - liked the pose on this one:

Hope you like?

Re: Goldfinch and Bluetit

Great shots those - I think I like the first the most as it seems more 'contrasty'.

Re: Goldfinch and Bluetit

I definitely prefer the first, the second was just cute, I don't think it's even close to being one of the better bluey shots I've taken!

Thanks both!

Re: Goldfinch and Bluetit

Love the pose on the first shot Have you noticed that with some birds (in the same light) the colour in their feathers can appear quite flat and dull looking, and then one from the same species appears and his/her colours look really vibrant? I've noticed this with finches but more so with tits, especially blue tits and great tits.

Re: Goldfinch and Bluetit

Yes I had noticed - and it's really annoying, as it can be so hard to make it look any more vibrant - the tit above was particularly flat and pale! I guess it's like flowers - you have to pick your subjects carefully!
