I've increased the catch lights in her eyes, upped the contract, sharpened but ran a skin smoother over her, added a gold reflector under her chin and saturated the natural highlights in her hair.

Yep, have to be honest Dan, you haven't made the best of your girl! Quick sort it out before someone else who can flatter her in Photoshop comes along...

I think the newer image is nice also - but - always the minority - I still love the first edit you posted

I do think that JR went a bit OTT with the edit he did - but it's a good edit nonetheless - and perhaps taking some of what JR has done and toning it down a bit could help?

grrr.. I'm on my girlfriends laptop and the image posted looks totally different to how it looked on my mac. I added some very subtle catchlight on the second image.

Even I dont like the new image on this screen.

Can't beat a good print.

Thankyou for the feedback non the less, Post processing is a nice touch but I tried to steer away from the over artificial look.

how can I get a more continous image colour/quality from pc to pc?

I had the same problem the other week Dan, I don't think you can, at least in practice. Different monitors have differing performance and people set them differently. Quite evident from the posts on the forum that people are seeing the pictures with some differences. Same as TV's really. People have different preferences but best do akll your editing on one you trust.

I do trust my mac, Its also a matte screen so that changes things.

macs colour is a different temperature to pc colour so thats one obvious variation straight away.

What I meant was do your editing on your own monitor which is calibrated or as you like it, but if you edit elsewhere or view elsewhere the results may well be different.

Dan I quite liked the first I think if that was what you where going for then JOB DONE! but you will always get a few and sometime a whole lot (normally in my case lol) of people who don't like what you have done, but if the finised image is how you wanted it, well done. keep up the good work I really like you images and always look forward to seeing the next!

Well, of course, it goes without saying if you have achieved that which you set out to, then well done and no reason to ask for comment. Must say I am never satisfied with my work and I feel the need for others opinions.
