Which, if any, is better

I've had a go at *popping* some of my pictures..could you have a look and tell me which works better, if at all?

The second one, the "bug" is lost in the first, I think.

Before seeing the second image I thought "would be better to have the bug coloured also", scrolled down and there it was in glorious colour.

Definitely the second one.

Oh! The second, the bug is some much more interesting than the flower in this case, like the shot btw the petals of the flower look like crumpled tissue.

the trouble as I see it is...there are two clear focal points, each competing for star attraction. I'd prefer to see one or the other.

That is what I set out to say I would prefer the second with the beetle as the star performer.

I like the second photo better than the first for the above mentioned reasons. I would like to see the photo in full color to see if the third option is best.
