I'm going to put the cat amongst the pigeons now and say that I prefer the original. I think the little bit of colour in the original just gives the image a bit of depth and isolates the grass from the background.

I do prefer the colour one, sorry Steve 
but, I think it would be even better if it were warmer, perhaps if there'd been bright sunshine on the day you took it (if there was, perhaps it wasn't shining on the grass?). I don't mean to criticise, but I love these grasses!
