it's traditional

a left-handed arm would be taught to fight with his sword in the right hand. In old naval days officers used to carry the sword on their broadside - this so when they were about to assault enemy ships, they had a broad space to draw swords without injuring their fellow swordsmen.

I didn't know the part about the ships but did know it was traditional to carry them on the right, it's just that left-handed men would probably fight better left-handed

A left-handed person often has better co-ordination with their left than their right

They are amazing aren't they, very nice style! I love this style of wedding photography, definitely more about the couple, than more traditional wedding portraiture.
