Watermarking

Please could someone tell me the easiest way to watermark a pic?

I want to write COPY right across the picture but not in thick bold, so they can still see the pic quite well but it spoils it.

It is for a class photo.

I have ps 7.

Re: Watermarking

Just put the text on a new layer and then change the opacity

Most watermarks look ugly and spoil the pic tho, so think about whether you really want it on their or not..

Re: Watermarking

I really need something on it because when the mums take the sample home I dont want them scaning and copying it and then not buying a copy.

Watermarking is an accepted thing to do when people look at proofs

I just HATE it when folks post watermarked pics here

Re: Watermarking

I prefer to see a photographers signature on an image rather than a watermark when hosting on the internet, but agree the situation Jols wants to use it for calls for a watermark as the image is a proof

Re: Watermarking

I use a basic editing suite, "add text" then dilute the transparency, is it something like this you want? I could do it for you if you like?

Re: Watermarking

YES IT IS.

I have not taken the photos yet it is thirteen classes in a school, thus thirteen pictures. What editing suite do you use?
