Nikon d40x remote

Ok folks I have received my Nikon d40x remote. [it is not a nikon make]

It is wonderful.

If you read the previous post about it Bazza appears to be mistaken.

I can activate it from behind, in front of and to either side and to the distance of 15 feet which is exactly what I wanted.

Many thanks to MOONSTONE for her guidence and the link of which I made my purchase.

And it only cost just over a fiver.

from jols a very happy bunny

Re: Nikon d40x remote

Glad you are pleased, it is the same as mine, and mine works well.

You obviously removed the plastic from the battery , unlike someone I know and was swearing about Ebay junk for a few minutes
Can we expect lots of Jols self portraits now

Re: Nikon d40x remote

You do suprise me, For a wireless radio wave remote it has to be plugged into the remote control socket or possibly the hot shoe. Then on the transmitter and receiver there would be an aerial.

On " In for red" you would only have a transmitter and that would have to activate the shutter release via some sort of inbuilt reciever, usually in the front of the camera.

The easiest test is to check the distance the remote works furthest from the camera infront of, and then behind the camera. the latter system would work further away from the front.
