Camera insurance
I have been looking for camera insurance and there are so many insurers offering insurance with catches.
These go from not covering outside the house - voluntary excess-repairing only- new for old within a time limit of camera purchase- camera left in car- water damage-uk cover only-
etc etc
Some of the above may be applicable to house contents insurance if camera equipment is covered on same.
So far I have only been able to come up with a company called Photoguard which seems to include the above, not cheap but if it covers everything. has anyone had any dealings with this company, and if so were they happy with them?
The other main company is e&l which appears to give good cover
Do any others have camera/gear on insurance and if so which company are they with?

No leave it here for others to see if you would please Azz. See I did post on that other thread but it drifted onto animal insurance as well. I would rather it stayed strictly on camera equipment.

I'm interested too, as I don't want anything to happen to my D300! I was going to ring the house insurance company up, and ask them how much extra it would cost to get it on there. But if it's more than £40 it's prob not worth it as I think that's the going rate for dedicated insurance..

I guess it depends how much you are looking to insure it for, but I was quoted around the £200 mark with both Towergate and Photoguard

The 2 quotes I have had from E&L and Photoguard are poles apart, infact one is nearly double the other. Surely there can't be that amount of difference between the two.
